| Treat everyone with kindness because everyone matters and deserves to be treated with respect What might this look like? The staff treats each other with respect. Staff say please and thank you to each other. Staff are polite to parents and listens to any worries they have. Staff smile and are welcoming to all. Staff are confident and comfortable in showing their natural selves Staff show concern for the welfare of their colleagues. Staff are prepared to give support to each other. Staff show that they listen to each other’s opinions | To treat everyone with kindness, show good manners and behaviour at all times because everyone matters and deserves to be treated with respect What might this look like? | Feel that they have made a positive contribution to the direction and success of the nursery What might this look like? Staff make a positive contribution by working together to achieve at least a GOOD at an Ofsted inspection. Staff talk to each other to discuss how to enhance the nursery environment. Staff are confident at putting forward new ideas | Have a ‘home from home’ experience where they feel safe, know they will be encouraged and be comforted when needed What might this look like? The children feel secure in the setting and know they will be comforted or need a cuddle. Understanding their likes and dislikes helps the children to feel safe. | Not be afraid to challenge wrongs, to make the right call by doing the right thing even when it is unusual and difficult to do so What might this look like? Staff to see it, say it and sort it straightaway Staff get on and will talk all the time – easy with such a small group Staff will offer each other advice when something is wrong and will listen to opinions | Experience the awe and wonder of all things around them What might this look like? The children are given opportunities indoors and outdoors. The children are offered new experiences all the time including within the community environment. Staff encourage the children in all that they do by giving them plenty of opportunities to achieve their goals with no limitations in what they want to do. Staff encourage and supports everyone to push the boundaries. Staff demonstrate a ‘can do’ approach and will persevere to succeed at tasks | Be motivated to play and learn and not settle for less than excellent in everything that they do, be encouraged to be cooperative and be guided to overcome limitations What might this look like?
